FAQS

How do I get to Calvary Baptist Church?

We are centrally located in Normal right off Main Street just north of ISU.

When do I show up?

The Sunday worship service begins at 9:30 so we recommend arriving a few minutes early to get some coffee and donuts. If you have children, you can check them in before the service begins or part way through the service.

What should I wear?

While some people dress up, most folks wear casual and comfortable clothes on Sunday morning. Don’t worry about what you wear—just come and worship Jesus with us.

Where do I go first?

There are doors everywhere, and it’s easy to get confused. The best door to come enter is the main overhang door. Once inside, friendly greeters will show you where to go and help you find a seat. Children 3 years old and under start the service in their class. While 4 and up begin in the service and head to class during our fellowship break.

What should I expect during the service?

We sing both old and new songs, read the Bible, pray and listen to the Bible taught. Each part of the service is designed to display the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.

How do I get connected at Calvary?

Getting connected at Calvary begins by participating in the Sunday morning service. Sundays are a time for celebrating by worshipping Jesus together, hearing the preaching of the Word, and sharing in the Lord’s Supper.

You can also get involved in Sunday Seminar classes on Sunday evenings (September through May) or get connected to a Community Group throughout the week. Community Groups are where the seeds of the preached Word take root and become real. They are the place where we build relationships with one another and learn to serve each other.
